Greek philosophers founded the original school of good living, recognizing a virtuous life as the only way humans could achieve true happiness and fulfillment before it became the unofficial religion of the Roman Empire. Stoics sold prescriptions to happiness under the single rule that your every action should be in accordance with nature; which calls for you to be courageous, just, temperate, and wise. Everything discussed in every meeting should be backed by provable science, reason, and logic. If you believe it is not, please ask for sources.
Who’s Idea Was This?
Susanna Miller and Eric Ruth are a team of practicing Stoics who create, educate, present, and act as stewards of the philosophy. They are also spouses, parents, friends, and professionals involved in many other communities. When Susanna is not teaching middle school English and Eric is not practicing law, they spend much of their time outdoors with family and friends in spring, summer and fall. In winter, you can most likely find either of them inside reading, writing, creating, lifting, cooking, watching football (Susanna) or hockey (Eric), and probably talking a bit too much about Stoicism.
